Meet Dr. Nancy Friessen, optometrist and founder of Visionology Optometry, bringing boutique, prevention-focused eye care to Kelowna’s Guisachan Village.
After trading Ontario’s flatlands for the Okanagan mountains in 2017, a decision she calls her best one yet, Nancy set out to build a practice rooted in genuine connection, curated eyewear, and patient-centered care. Opening in late 2024, Visionology represents a lifelong dream realized, blending her passion for education with her commitment to helping people see clearly, comfortably, and confidently.
Nancy earned her Doctor of Optometry with Honours from the University of Waterloo, following degrees in Education and Science with Distinction from the University of Windsor. Her career has always extended beyond the exam room, from leadership roles in optometry school to providing eye care on a mission trip to Romania.
Today, she continues to share her expertise through monthly eye health columns and active involvement with Kelowna Women in Business and the Chamber of Commerce , staying deeply connected to the community she serves.
When she’s not at Visionology, you’ll find Nancy paddle boarding on Okanagan Lake, snowboarding at Big White, or hiking with her husband, son, and golden doodle, Hugo.
