2024 / 2025 - Launch Okanagan

For 15 years, Launch Okanagan has been transforming lives by educating and empowering people with the tools they need to attain financial security and stability. Their focus is on providing financial education programs and helping individuals develop money management skills that launch them towards a brighter future.

2023 / 2024 - Project Literacy

Project Literacy Central Okanagan Society was founded in 1986 and provides literacy support for adults, refugees, immigrant families, children and seniors. They have helped thousands of people from across the Central Okanagan enhance their literacy skills and improve their quality of life. Project Literacy is funded entirely by grants and donations and has over over 100 tutor/learner active pairs enrolled in their programming.

2022 / 2023 - Her International

Empower her, empower the world. The mission of Her International is to provide educational opportunities for those that are marginalized as women or in the feminine expression, and to develop programs to suit their unique needs.

2021 / 2022 - Hope Outreach

HOPE Outreach supports sex-trade workers who may experience vulnerability on a journey to realizing their potential of living a safe and healthy life. Other than raising money for our financial donation in the fall, the KWIB team has been actively engaging with the HOPE community and volunteering as part of the outreach program.

Kelowna Women in Business Annual Bursary

Our annual $1000 bursary is for a woman who resides in Kelowna or the surrounding area, currently enrolled in a university, college or post-secondary program. The monies may be used towards tuition, books, supplies or other items needed to succeed.

We welcome nominations from anyone in the local community, including self-nominations. Please note this is a one-time award and previous recipients are ineligible. 

Applications are voted on by the KWIB Board of Directors based on level of merit and need.
