Since arriving in Kelowna with her husband in 2012, Carrie immediately began to become involved with the graphic design and digital marketing industry in the Okanagan Valley. As a graduate in 2010 from The Alberta College of Art & Design (ACAD) in Calgary with a Bachelor of Design, Majoring in Graphic Design and a minor in Advertising. Here Carrie was able to learn the valuable skills on semiotics, colour theory, brand identity, and typography.
Carrie has worked in a variety of environments from fast-paced advertising agencies to small design studios, and is now the Creative Director at Twirling Umbrellas. Twirling Umbrellas specializes in branding, graphic design, print design, web design and WordPress development, marketing, inbound marketing, search engine marketing, and SEO. Along with working at Twirling Umbrellas she also teaches graphic design at the Centre for Arts and Technology (CATO).
In her spare time, Carrie has started her own business Ginger Creative - where she focuses on custom designed Wedding Stationery. She also publishes Adore Magazine, a quarterly wedding magazine that is sold in book stores and renown within the Okanagan wedding industry.
In 2016, Carrie won the ARTSCO Business and Arts Award, and was a Finalist for her wedding stationery with the BC Wedding Awards.
